Kojiro was not the only one that used superior intelligence computers to his advantage, Aimi was quite adept at the art. She and Kimi had a long history of cooperation and consultation.
Aimi sat on her bed and called Kimi on her wristpad. "Hey there, are you awake?"
"Always. What's up?"
"Are you keeping an eye on what's going on in the ship?"
Kimi laughed. "Of course, how else would I keep tabs on you."
"That's sort of why I'm calling you. I want to talk to Astrid in private. Please check the ship's surveillance to see where Kojiro is and if Astrid is at home."
"Huh!" Kimi's tone was unmistakably disgruntled. "Why on earth would you want to talk to that thing. I'm surely just as capable, if not more so, than she is to talk about anything."
"Oh keep your shirt on, Kimi. You know I love you. This is purely business of the kind that you admitted to knowing nothing about."
"Sex!" Kimi chuckled. "Is that what you want to discuss with her?"
Aimi grinned. "Not exactly, but that might come up too. I want to bounce some 3D printing ideas off her and I hope that she'll help me."
"Kojiro's in his factory on deck three. Astrid is still apparently in their cabin. There aren't any cameras in the cabins."
"Hmm, nor will there ever be. People do like some privacy. Thanks Kimi. Please call me if he returns." Aimi ended the call.
She left her cabin. Kojiro's door was only a few metres from hers. She knocked after checking that nobody was about.
The door opened and Astrid raised her straight blonde eyebrows. "Hello Aimi." She laughed. "You're the last person I expected to see."
Aimi dipped her head out of habit. "Hmm, you're actually the last person I ever expected to visit. May I come in?"
"Of course. Please forgive my manners." The gorgeous android gestured invitingly into the room.
"Thanks."
"Kojiro's not here."
"I know. It's you I want to see. Can I rely on you to keep this meeting secret?"
"If that's what you wish, then certainly. Please sit." Astrid pointed to a comfortable looking burnt umber leather lounge suite. There was a two-seater settee and two single chairs. Aimi sat on a chair and Astrid chose the settee.
The android was wearing a knee length skirt. She crossed her legs modestly. "And?"
"I want to start a 3D printing business. I have several printers in storage. Um, actually they were acquired for the ship, but technically they belong to me. Sorry, I'm getting sidetracked. I know they're capable of printing fine fabric so I was thinking of lingerie."
Astrid's mouth puckered as she grunted. "Humph! Now that's an interesting line. Underwear is bound to wear out quicker than anything else. I imagine there'll soon be a demand for your goods if we stay at sea long enough."
Aimi nodded. "The thing is I don't want to have to do any sewing."
"That shouldn't be a problem if you use moulds."
"Moulds?"
"It's simple." Astrid waved a shapely hand. "You do a 3D scan of the person. Then, if your printer is set up properly, it'll print a wax mould at the same time as printing the fabric.
